Terms of service

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Before you publish this site: these terms are a sensible starting point written by your developer, not by a solicitor. For a subscription with access to other people's live stores, get clause 6 (access), clause 9 (things going wrong) and clause 10 (liability) reviewed properly. That review is worth more than it costs the first time a store goes down.

1. Who we are

These terms apply to services supplied by Voyage Systems, United Kingdom . Contact: [email protected]. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of Shopify Inc.

2. What you are buying

A monthly subscription giving you a request queue and a fixed number of requests worked on at any one time, as set out on the pricing page for your plan. You may add an unlimited number of requests to the queue. We work on them in the order you put them in.

"Unlimited" refers to the queue, not to simultaneous work. No plan entitles you to more concurrent work than the number of active requests it states.

3. What counts as one request

One outcome. Uploading thirty products is one request. Building a landing page is one request. A task that would take more than roughly two working days of continuous work is a project rather than a request; we will tell you within one working day of you raising it and quote it separately. We will not silently absorb a project into your subscription and block your queue with it.

4. Scope

What is included and excluded is listed on the what's included page, which forms part of these terms. We may decline a request that falls outside it, is unlawful, infringes someone's rights, or that we do not believe we are competent to do well — in which case we will say so plainly rather than attempt it.

5. Turnaround

Stated turnaround times are measured from the point a request becomes active — that is, when it reaches the top of your queue and we begin it — not from when you added it. Times are in working days, exclude UK public holidays, and pause while we are waiting on information or assets from you. They are commitments made in good faith; if we are going to miss one you will hear it from us before the deadline.

6. Access to your store

You will create a Shopify staff account for us with the minimum permissions the work requires. You keep control of it and may revoke it at any time. We will never ask for your personal login details or password, and you should never send them.

We will not knowingly change anything outside the scope of an agreed request. For anything materially visual we work on a duplicate theme and show you before it goes live, unless you have asked us to work directly. We will not install paid apps, change your plan, or take any action that costs you money without asking first.

7. Your content

You confirm you have the right to use any images, text, fonts or other material you send us. We will not verify licensing on your behalf. Everything we produce for you under an active subscription becomes yours on payment, to use, change or take elsewhere however you like.

We treat your store data, sales figures and anything else we see as confidential and will sign your NDA if you have one.

8. Billing, pausing and cancelling

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance from the day you start.
  • One-off projects can be paid in full, or split into 3 equal monthly instalments at the same total price — no interest, no credit check and nothing added.
  • Where a project is paid in instalments: work begins on the first payment, you see progress on a preview throughout, and the work goes live once the final instalment clears. If instalments stop, work pauses and nothing is published. Anything already paid for is not refunded, but your preview stays available for 30 days so you can restart.
  • You can pause at any time. Billing stops, work stops, and your board is preserved.
  • You can cancel at any time, with no notice period and no exit fee. Work continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • We do not refund part-months, because you keep the full month's service. We are not going to argue about genuine edge cases.
  • Plan upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated. Downgrades take effect at your next billing date.
  • We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added and none is charged. The price quoted is the price you pay.
  • If payment fails we will tell you and pause the account rather than quietly stop working.

9. If something goes wrong

If we deliver something that is not what you asked for, tell us and we will redo it at no charge and without it counting as a new request. That is the first remedy and in practice it is the only one anyone needs.

If we cause a problem on your store, we will fix it as an emergency, ahead of everything else, at no charge. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. Shopify retains theme version history, and we work on duplicate themes for visual changes, but neither of those is a backup of your store and you should not rely on us for one.

10. Liability

Our total liability arising from the subscription in any twelve month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or lost sales, or for the acts of third parties including Shopify, app developers, or your other suppliers. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Ending it from our side

We can end a subscription with 30 days' notice, and immediately for abuse of our staff, for unlawful requests, or for non-payment. If we end it for convenience, we refund any unused part of the month.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
